Description
This female great horned owl was sitting on the ground at a neighbor's house in northern Illinois. She allowed me to get this close -up shot. We later determined she was injured and we were able to get her help from a wild life rescue center. Her broken wing will be reset and she will go through rehab and be returned to the wild. In the meantime, this close-up image allows us to forever appreciate the beauty of this wonderful creature.

Thank you so much Debra. Happy to report she has initially responded to treatment and likely will be able to be released to the wild after rehab.
