There was a time not too long ago when just about every dining establishment, hotel, night club, and bowling alley gave out matchbooks to their customers. The matchbook designs reflected the image the business wished to project. Boxed matches typically denoted a "higher class" venue. As smoking has declined these matchbooks and boxed matches are essentially a thing of the past. The photos in this collection use matchbooks to evoke a time now mostly behind us.
