Description
This double crested cormorant, phalacoxorax auritus, is perched high above the Fox River in northern Illinois. The cormorant is very distinguishable by its orange facial skin, curved beak tip, and blue eyes. Even with webbed feet it is able to wrap its feet tightly around a branch to perch high above the water.
