Description
There is such simplicity where form and function come together that we might overlook the symmetry and pleasing shapes that make up this burner control knob on an Elgin Stove. By enhancing the contrast and recoloring it with red, white, and blue, we are also reminded of quality goods made in America throughout our history. Elgin Stoves were manufactured at a plant on North State Street from 1923-1931. This object is in the Elgin History Museum collection. This image is included in the Art in Artifacts Exhibit.
